PACIFIC IMAGE ELECTRONICS INCORPORATES

DIGITAL ICE3™ TECHNOLOGY INTO NEWEST FILM SCANNER

PF7250PRO3 with Digital ICE3

Torrance, CA. April 23, 2007  Pacific Image Electronics announces that it will incorporate Kodak Austin Development ‘s groundbreaking Digital ICE3 suite into its newest film scanner, the PF7250PRO3, enabling photographers, graphic artists, publishers and consumers to make clear, sharp scanned image files from original 35mm color negatives and slides. Digital ICE™ improves the scanned image, even if there are scratches or dust on the film, the original color has faded or the images are grainy, without compromising the clarity, color or quality of the original image.

Digital ICETM eliminates the effects of scratches, dust, fingerprints, and even mold when scanning negatives or positive slides. Unlike competitive technologies, Digital ICE does not remove the detail content of the image.

The incorporation of Digital ICE3 into the PF7250PRO3 film scanner provides photographers and other imaging specialists with even better tools and flexibility to automatically create high-quality scanned images.

By incorporating products such as Digital ICE3 into our line of film scanners, Pacific Image Electronics continues its mission to provide a full-range of products for the consumer, prosumer and professional photography and imaging markets at reasonable prices.

Additional Kodak Austin Development products incorporated into the new PF7250PRO3 film scanner include Digital ROC™, which restores and balances color, and Digital GEM™, which eliminates grain clumping and graininess, resulting in sharp and clear images.

Expanded Technical Features Extend Film Scanner Product Line

The PF7250PRO3 operates at 7200 dpi optical resolution, 16-bits per channel with a total output image of 48-bits, which allows users to enlarge images up to 36” x 24”. Even at this size, images are substantially sharper than that obtained from flatbed scanners as PF7250PRO3’s design eliminates the need to scan through a piece of image-distorting glass and allows the sensor to be closer to the scanning target.

Its ability to record the full range of brightness, from absolute black darkness (0.0) to full white brightness (4.0) is at the professional level of 3.4 (versus the typical 3.0 found in most flatbed scanners).

The PF7250PRO3 includes IEEE 1394, USB 2.0 (backwards compatible to USB1.1) interfaces for fast scanning speeds. Easy installation procedures allow the user to begin scanning and storing crystal clear images quickly to hard disk, which can then be burned onto CD-R, CD-RW or DVD media or any other storage media. Auto focus and automatic film loading features makes the scanning process easier and quicker.

The PF7250PRO3 is compatible with Adobe Photoshop and most other popular image editors.

The unit weighs 3.2 pounds and measures 10.8 ” L x 7.2” W x 3.8” H. Connection is via IEEE 1394 or USB port to Windows XP, Windows Vista or Mac OS version 10.1 or later system equipment with a USB or IEEE 1394 solution. (Vista drivers available via the website) Users may choose either Twain compliant for their PC system or plug-in for their Macintosh.

The PF7250PRO3 will launch in late April 2007 with an MSRP of $549.99.
